there has to be a glitch somewhere in between, inevitably. But because only the good things matter most, I shall pretend that life is really good at the moment. Today we drove from the west, to the east, to the north and then back home. All that in the name of shopping and service. You see, my dad just came back and there were a few things that needed to be delivered here and there. But before we went on to make people squeal in delight and smile like silly buffoons, we made a short trip to my favourite shopping haven - ikea.
After much dawdling, we finally found what we needed and a few things which we don't exactly need (heh), we made a long drive to the far east. It was maghrib and after that we sat for a while before finally deciding where we'd have dinner. And so shortly before the first match of the day started, the 2 families finally reached a consensus and Simpang Bedok was to be the place to have dinner and watch at least the first half of the match.
I found it amusing that he and I chose to waste energy and a few cents (read: tekan butang to sms) than talk when we were really just a few inches away from each other. To think that we were spending money just to talk about facial cleanser. So when we were quite done with dinner and I pretty much bloated from all the green tea, we went separate ways. We were off to my cousin's place.
Despite all the preparation kicking in, I'm still in disbelief. I cannot believe that one of us is getting hitched soon. And come Saturday, she'll be only 6 months away from ijab & kabul, insya' Allah. This is the same cousin whom I played masak-masak, doktor-doktor, boutique-boutique, cikgu-cikgu, and all other nonsense with. This is the same cousin who used to pose for pictures wearing really short dresses which exposed a wee bit of undies, as a little girl. This is the same kakak idah who stayed with us when my mum was hospitalised.
This is also the cousin who lelong-ed her collection of shoes, for free. Can you beat that? hur hur hur.
Nothing can be quite as exhilarating as shopping without having to fork out a single cent.
I think I might have to lelong some of my shoes to make space in the shoe cabinet. I can safely say that slightly more than half of what's in there are mine. hur hur. I'm terrible.
I only have wednesday left to literally shake legs and meet the charbohs before I go into a baking frenzy. But since life's pretty much a cruise, I'll just shut up and bask in the goodness.
